About

A Journey, Not a Destination

As part of my deep commitment to systems change at the intersection of environmental, social and criminal justice, I founded the Insight Garden Program (now “Land Together”) in 2002 at San Quentin State Prison to transform lives through connection to nature.

From 2014 – 2020, as Executive Director, I oversaw program expansion to ten additional California prisons, a youth facility in Indiana, and an adult male facility in Ohio as well the development of reentry bridge program. As a $1.5 million environmental nonprofit, IGP continues to facilitate experiential gardening, landscaping, and ecoliteracy programming in prisons; provides reentry support to returning citizens; and advocates for social, environmental, and criminal justice reform.

After almost two decades of seeding and cultivating the organization’s growth, in 2020, I decided to make space for new leadership at Insight Garden and relaunch my consulting practice.

Prior to Insight Garden, I planned and implemented strategic communications campaigns and change management work in the public, private and non-profit sectors, and managed media outreach campaigns for philanthropic organizations and international technology accounts at Blanc & Otus Public Relations (a Hill & Knowlton Company). Prior to moving to California, for a management consulting firm, I led social marketing programs for the U.S. Departments of Labor (Job Corps), Justice and Education and the Environmental Protection Agency in Washington, D.C.
